Chris Newberg, a graduate of the Second City Detroit is
also a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and comedian. Chris
began his 12 years on the musical stage as a guitarist and
songwriter/singer for the Detroit rock band the VuDu Hippies.
His career as a comedian
and member of Motor City Improv
only began a short time ago and he has already been referred to by
The Detroit Free Press as "One of the most original talents to
burst on the Midwest comedy scene in years." Chris
co-wrote and performed in three of Motor
City Improv's revues: The Ho, Ho, Hoe-down, Bringin'
Home the Bacon (A show inspired by the Footloose Soundtrack) and
Drai Hoomph, The One Hoomph or Two Reunion Tour.
Chris is a semi-finalist
(contest results pending) in the 2001 Comedy Central Laugh Riots
competition. He lives in Birmingham with his cocker spaniel
"Flower."
